Dedicated Servers
Our Self Managed Dedicated Servers are sometimes referred to as Bare Metal Servers. It’s in a rack with almost nothing installed. More than just a little technical knowledge is required to run these. Some configuration options will appear in the shopping cart at time of purchase.
Where all other things are equal the slight price difference between servers that are otherwise equally configured is the Solid State drive. For the tiny increase in price they are so much faster that it’s a no-brainer. What we’re telling you here is that if you can afford Solid State the performance increase is something you can feel, it stands out.
More than likely you will connect over SSH to your unique dedicated ip address where you will get a $ prompt. And now you get to do, well, EVERYTHING. I’ve always found it curious that in our industry the stuff you pay the most for you have to know more and spend lots more time to operate.
Right now I’m not sure what we are even installing by default on these. I think I heard something about Alma Linux, https://almalinux.org/, being hot right now. Some time back it was CentOS. But you get to choose the base operating system. We’ll put whatever image for the base os on there and make sure you can connect.
On on-boarding folks are going to ask you two questions. What base operating system, what theater. Where we have basically three operating theaters. North America, Europe, Asia.
In a few minutes we will get back with you with your dedicate IP addressm, user login, root user information, some basic configuration details.
When you connect the first thing you’ll probably want to do is install your FTP client and your webserver/database comb.

People tell us that they really like the idea of choosing a slot in your public appointment book to have a phone of video chat, rather than making a phone call and not getting the right guy with the answers you need.
