In an interview in this issue, OSM’s new secretary, Philip Walton, says: “We are a massive success story, and it’s so easy to forget that. An anarchic incoherent group of individuals who gravitated around an open source fork and made it work, and not just work but work for 20 years, that’s a huge achievement and one that’s easy to overlook.”
That is exactly how I feel about the Joomla Community Magazine. Each and every month, people come up with ideas and articles. It’s a never ending flow of quality content, created by you: the wonderful Joomla community. The May issue is no different: another interesting mix of tutorials and how-to’s, community interviews, leadership interviews (read those! These people hold Joomla’s future) and more. Have fun reading, and if you think: hey, this is a community I’d like to join, please reach out to us so we can find you something nice to do!
Combining Joomla with LiteSpeed and Redis is a great way to make your website faster, more responsive, and better equipped to handle high traffic. This setup relies on modern caching and acceleration technologies, while remaining compatible with a wide range of hosting environments.
With the release of Joomla 5.3.0, the Joomla 5.2 series has come to an end. That also means my job as Release Manager for Joomla 5.2 is now done. A new team took over for the Joomla 5.3 version and will continue building and maintaining the releases of Joomla CMS.
The Joomla! project is incredible not only because Joomla is the best CMS in the world, but also because our volunteers are skilful, powerful, and highly competent. Joomla volunteers never cease to surprise me with their optimism and positivity, always aiming to help the Joomla! project and benefit the community.

Last month, the JCM Team received very sad news: Helvecio (Elvis) da Silva, a passionate Joomler and valuable volunteer, has passed away at the age of 59.
